Steam Locomotive Placemats and Coasters with artwork by David Bell. Featuring reproductions of paintings by renowned railway artist David Bell, our range of Placemats shows six of the most iconic steam locomotives set in historically accurate locations. Flying Scotsman and Mallard steaming out of King's Cross. Sir William Stanier at Euston. Oliver Cromwell, Bocastle and Cock O’ the North make up this impressive set. The Placemats have brief narratives giving the locomotive’s backgrounds and their significance. Coasters are of the same high quality as our Placemats, but without the narratives. They have tough lacquer-finished tops, are heat resistant to 100 degrees, cork backed. Both come as a boxed sets of 6. Tablemat measures 11½x8½", coasters measures 4½x4½". GREAT OFFER - SAVE £5 when you buy both the Placemats and the Coasters.

Beautiful

My husband loves these train coasters perfect gift.

I am happy with my purchase. The train designs are good and accompanied by interesting historical information. However, I am disappointed in one sense. I am a fan of Nauticalia products and twenty years ago I bought the Ocean Explorer place mat and coaster set, which the train designs are now replacing. But I'm pretty sure the train designs will not last as long, because the quality is not as good: they are smaller and cork-backed, not felt-backed. I suppose it is a sign of the times that goods are not as well made as in the past. I would happily have paid more to get place mats and coasters which were larger and felt-backed. Perhaps Nauticalia might like to consider introducing a 'luxury' range for its place mat and coaster range?Otherwise, many thanks for a product which will give my family pleasure while we are eating.
