Splice the Mainbrace!
In the days of sail, the main sail was steadied, or braced, with a thick rope called the Mainbrace. If it was cut by enemy fire, a team of sailors had to splice the Mainbrace back together whilst under fire to save the ship and win the battle. As a reward for successfully achieving this titanic task, the Captain would order the ship’s Purser to issue a double ration of rum or gin to the team as a toast to victory.
Multi award-winning Mainbrace Navy Strength Rum celebrates that spirit of courage, teamwork and friendship forged in the heart of battle. It is a traditionally-crafted premium blend of 2-5 year-old rums from three different stills in Guyana and unaged agricole from Martinique, without any additives or sweeteners. Bottled at an ABV of 54.5%, it is a strength consistent with the Royal Navy standard in which gunpowder soaked in the spirit would still ignite – ‘hence the term Gunpowder Proof’. The nose begins with sweet woody aromas that eventually subside to dried fruits and caramel. The palate has an initial peppery spice that quickly becomes naturally sweet treacle notes with a hint of spiced vanilla. 70cl.

3-Day Delivery: £6.99. This is a three-working-day (not Saturday, Sunday, or Bank Holidays) service for UK mainland and Ulster addresses, provided that you order before 1pm. Orders received after 1pm will be processed on the next working day, so take one day longer to arrive. If you require an item to be personalised, your order will be delayed by one working day.
Express Delivery: £9.99. This is a next-working-day (not Saturday, Sunday, or Bank Holidays) service for UK mainland and Ulster addresses, provided that you order before 1pm. Orders received after 1pm will be processed on the next working day, so take one day longer to arrive. Service to Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight and other UK Islands takes two days. If you require an item to be personalised, your order will take an additional working day. Your package will arrive between 9am and 6pm (may be up to 8pm), and must be signed for on receipt, so please give an address where there will be somebody available to take delivery (perhaps a neighbour/friend, or your workplace if your employer permits this).

We are currently unable to deliver to EU addresses due to the high and unpredictable costs, customs charges, and courier handling fees. Our other overseas delivery charges (standard service only) are:
